Electrical stimulation device for erectile dysfunction

Treatment with electrical current stimulates the smooth muscle cells of the erectile tissue. This musculature is not under self control and so cannot be actively trained. Electrical current pulses stimulate the nerve impulses to which muscle cells normally respond. This increases their responsiveness and speed of contraction.

Indications

ACTIVEErecTens is suitable for treatment of erectile dysfunction caused by injury or weakness of muscle cells in the erectile tissue and the pelvic floor, or other erectile dysfunction of physical origin. Please note that even if CCAT treatment does not work, electrical stimulation can still produce an erection. If not, CCAT treatment may be effective when combined with electrical stimulation.

Medical research has been carried out on this treatment, and its efficacy has been demonstrated by clinical trials*.

Common causes of erectile problems are

• Diabetes (elevated blood sugar levels)
• High blood pressure
• Vascular disease (atherosclerosis)
• Elevated levels of blood lipids
• Depression (or other psychological problems)
• Neurological disorders (multiple sclerosis, paraplegia)
• Prostate surgery
• Vascular disease of the erectile tissue of the penis
• Kidney or liver failure
• Heart attack and stroke
• Medication (e. g. for high blood pressure and heart rhythm disturbances, antihypertensives, anti-inflammatory drugs, antidepressants and diuretics)
• Smoking and alcohol abuse
